Does it cost me anything to talk to you?

Accepted Answer

No fee from us, for the conversation or for arranging the loan. The lender you go with pays us a commission. The loan itself still has the lender's own fees and charges, and you'll see those in writing before you commit to anything.

Does the first conversation involve a credit check?

Accepted Answer

No. A first conversation is a conversation: no credit check, no application, no paperwork. Nothing goes to a lender unless you tell us to in writing.

Question 3

Isn't a broker for people who can't get approved by a bank?

Accepted Answer

No. It's for anyone who'd rather see more than one lender's answer, not only for people who've been knocked back somewhere.

Question 4

What does pre-approval actually mean?

Accepted Answer

It's a lender's conditional indication of what it would lend, based on the information you give it. It isn't final approval, it comes with conditions, and it has an expiry date. Only a lender can give one. If you get to that point, we'll walk you through what it does and doesn't lock in.

Question 5

Do I have to come into the office?

Accepted Answer

No. There's an office at Level 1, Suite 8, 48 Tamar Street in Ballina if you'd like to sit down. Phone, video and digital paperwork work just as well if that suits you better.

What if I've already got a loan and I'm just curious?

Accepted Answer

That's a lot of the people who get in touch. We can look at what you're in now against what's on the panel and tell you whether there's anything worth changing. Sometimes there isn't, and we'll say so.
