Self-Employed Home Loans

Are you self-employed and need a home loan?

Chardon offers multiple self-employed home loan options to suit all your needs.

We're Here to Help

Being self-employed can be a challenge getting a home loan. We can help you.

Get Approved

We are experts at finding lenders that will approve property investment loans.

Multiple Options

We have a vast network of lenders to help self-employed individuals

How long do I need to be self-employed to be eligible?

To be eligible for a self-employed home loan, most lenders require you to be self-employed for at least two to three years, however, some consider people who have been self-employed for only one year. Talk to us and see how we can help.

Have you been self-employed less than a year?

The approval criteria for a self-employed home loan with the major banks, unfortunately, don't allow for self-employed individuals to get a home loan.

The reason for this is because you don't have a tax return yet to prove your income although some lenders can take into consideration your income from a previous job and potentially allow you to borrow up to 80% for a home loan. Talk to us to see how we can help you.

What if I was previously employed but went out on my own?

If you were previously employed in the same job as you are now self-employed in (eg: worked as an electrician) and decided to become self-employed in the same job then some lenders can consider approving you for a home loan as you are deemed less risky. Talk to us about your current situation and see how we can help you.

You should avoid business banking

If you are thinking to borrow using a company, trust, or partnership then the lenders may refer you to business banking as a loan option.

If you already own a property then there is no reason why you should pay higher interest rates than necessary. The lenders may give you residential interest rates but will force you to sign extensive loan documents and you will still be required to provide a director guarantee on the loan which can put your business assets at risk.

How does it work?

With Chardon Home Loans, we take a personalised approach to help you get your self-employed home loan approved from our network of specialist lenders.
